Kylie Downs is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS). Kylie is registered with Medicare to provide psychological services under the Better Access to Mental Health Care Initiative.K
Kylie has over 17 years of experience providing Psychological services to children, adolescents and parents. Kylie has extensive experience working in both the public and private school sector. She uses evidence based treatment approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), mindfulness practice and Interpersonal Therapy (IPT). Kylie is experienced in providing counselling for a range of issues including anxiety (phobias, separation anxiety, social anxiety and generalised anxiety), depression, grief and loss, behaviour difficulties, learning and study concerns, family transitions (including separation and divorce), emotional regulations and social skills, school refusal and parenting support.
Kylie is highly skilled at providing a warm and accepting environment for clients, where they can explore and identify, beliefs, values, thought patterns and set personal goals. Kylie is able to build strong rapport with clients and this in turn allows the individual to feel safe and supported throughout their therapeutic journey.
